Meet Our Multicultural Liaison Officers: Abdulwahab Ibrahim, Emanuel Molla, and Susan Ragheb

Our school’s Multicultural Liaison Officers (MLOs) support newcomer students and families with settlement services, navigating the school system, language interpretation, and more.

The Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) program provides support in multiple languages for students and families who are newcomers and refugees. The Multicultural Liaison Officers work with school staff to welcome newcomer families and connect them with important services, resources, and supports within our school and in the local community.

Abdulwahab Ibrahim, Emanuel Molla, and Susan Ragheb are the Multicultural Liaisons Officers at our school. They are here to support families with:

  • Settlement services

  • Navigating the school system

  • Language and cultural interpretation

  • Accessing community services

  • Filling out school forms

  • Parent-teacher interviews

  • Getting involved at school, and more!

Abdulwahab speaks English, Somali, Swedish and can also help you access support in other languages.

MLO Abdulwahab IbrahimAbdulwahab has been with OCISO since 2022. Abdulwahab loves assisting families and children settle in schools. 

Before joining OCISO, Abdulwahab worked as a Student Service Advisor at the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Ottawa for 10 years. Abdulwahab has a MBA and a Bachelor of Economics.

In their free time, Abdulwahab enjoys reading, walking, and swimming. Abdulwahab believes, “be the best that you can be and go beyond expectations.”

Emanuel speaks Tigrigna, Amharic and English and can also help you access support in other languages.


MLO Emanuel MollaEmanuel has been with OCISO since 2021. Emanuel loves to help clients settle and integrate into the community. 


Before joining OCISO, Emanuel worked as a project manager at a community organization in Ottawa for 4 years. Emanuel has a MA in conflict studies.


In their free time, Emanuel enjoys soccer, reading books and social activities. Emanuel believes that “everyone has a blind spot and limitations, but positive feedback promotes personal and professional growth!”

Susan speaks English, Arabic, French and can also help you access support in other languages.


MLO Susan RaghebSusan has been with OCISO since 2018. Susan loves making a difference in people’s lives.


Before joining OCISO, Susan worked as an educator abroad and in Ottawa for over 10 years. Susan has a Bachelor in Architecture from Carleton University.


In their free time, Susan enjoys making art and reading. Susan believes, “if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." -John Quincy Adams.
