Grade 8 Day Volunteers Needed!

 

RHS will be hosting our family of schools on May 31, and June 1. We are looking for student volunteers to help take groups of students on a guided tour of the school. If you are available please fill out the form below:

Rainbow Youth Forum

 

The students of the OCDSB 2022-2023 2SLGBTQ+ Voices: Pathways to Interdependence Program are proud to present the 18th annual Rainbow Youth Forum (RYF) 2023 on Wednesday, May 24th from 5:30 PM- 9:00 PM at Confederation Education Centre! Come join us IN PERSON for an evening filled with fantastic events, workshops and opportunities to connect with each other.

 

Registration is open to all 2SLGBTQ+ OCDSB students (grades 7-12), OCDSB staff and 2SLGBTQ+ community partners. This form must be submitted by May 19th.

Within each workshop listed below, you will be able to choose your own journey for the evening. Please feel free to attend as much of the event as you like!

6:15-7:00 - Workshops Slot 1 (Musical Performances, Queer Staff GSA...)

7:00-8:00 - Workshops Slot 2 (Art Making, Costume Design Tutorial, Queer Educator Roundtable, Student Roundtable/Q&A...)

Save the Date: Black Youth Forum - Wednesday, June 7

 

Join us for our sixth annual Black Youth Forum! This year, our theme is Black Joy, and we're excited to explore different aspects of this theme with you. The forum will feature multiple groups, each with their own unique perspective on Black Joy. You will have the opportunity to learn, share, and engage with others in a fun and supportive environment. Registration and more information will be shared at a later date.

 

 

Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund 

 

The Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund was established by the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) in 2009. In honour of the late Marion Dewar, former Mayor of Ottawa, the fund aims to provide financial support for three immigrant and refugee students pursuing post-secondary education in the National Capital Region. Three awards of $1,500 will be provided in 2023. The deadline to apply is May 19, 2023 - please share this application form with eligible students.

Volunteers for the Canadian Tulip Festival this year

In pre-pandemic times we'd typically have about 350 volunteers in the park. 

Last year that number was down to 150. 

This year sign-ups are even lower.
