-

-
2 sports in grade 12 (as player/assistant coach/manager)
If you think you qualify according to the above criteria, please email [email protected] with a list of the sports you participated in for each grade/year and the name of the coach for each. Valedictorian Nomination Time
Nominate yourself for Valedictorian 2022
Hi Grads!
This is a nomination form for any graduating student who is interested in becoming the Valedictorian for 2022. The valedictorian is the graduate who has the honour of giving the final speech at the commencement ceremony. Each graduating student will have the opportunity to vote for the Valedictorian of 2022.
Your role if you are elected Valedictorian is to write and deliver a speech for your classmates to be given at the graduation ceremonies in June. Do you have something you want to say to your grad class to inspire them as they leave RHS and head out into the world? Then please fill in this nomination form.
You will need a teacher to support your nomination - typically this is the teacher who will help you write and practice your speech. You will need two grads to support you.
This form must be submitted by June 12 at noon.
Voting to take place June 13 - 16 via another google form. You must have a 250 word campaign "speech" ready for June 13 for grads to read to decide who they will vote for. Voting closes at 4 pm on June 16th.
The name of the elected valedictorian will be announced on June 17th.
Any questions, email Ms. Henry: [email protected]
Cheers,
Ms. Henry

Iloki-Kirkwood Bursary
Last year this scholarship granted two $500 scholarships to students. The bursary was created to help disadvantaged female student-athletes in the Ottawa community by granting monetary scholarships so that athletic and academic equipment is not a barrier to success. Recipients of the bursary are selected from an essay writing contest. Along with the essay contest, the project also launched a “Powerful Panel”, where high school students were connected with a diverse group of positive & influential leaders who have mastered their respective fields.

Tomorrow's Trades Fast Track
Interested in a career in a unionize trade?? Already working in a trade? Already completed a coop placement in a trade? This opportunity might be for you
Tomorrow's Trades Fast Track is a 4 week pre-apprenticeship program designed to help support OYAP Graduates from the OCDSB to access unionized construction trades in Ottawa.
Participants can expect to visit several unionized construction trade training centres where they will have the opportunity to gain some additional experience, meet current apprentices, understand the current labour market and requirements to enter that particular union. This process ensures that the participants have an opportunity to make informed decisions on the trade that is best suited to their interests, talents and future goals.
Participants will also meet with contractors, attend to active jobs sites and receive additional certifications. During the program we will help the participants through their union application process (including support for intake exams) and provide ongoing support as they make the connections to start their career.
