Remember to click the menu open & choose “show out” to see if the book is in our library, but just checked out to someone else right now.

Click the hand over the book icon to the right of the book for which you want to place a hold & have it delivered to you in class.

You can also email laura.wheeler@ocdsb.ca to get recommendations of what to read, sign out a book, help logging in, etc.
Webinar: We're Talking Boss Moves for Young Black Men (U of T Mississauga BAEE )

As a high risk group, it is imperative that Black males are encouraged to pursue a university education. One of the ways in which BAEE@UTM is doing this is by inspiring them to envision themselves at U of T Mississauga. All Black male high school students are invited to join BAEE@UTM for “We’re Talking Boss Moves for Young Black Men for the opportunity to engage with current Black male BAEE@UTM Ambassadors, who will share personal experiences and insights through cultural references and discussion.
This event is facilitated by a Black student recruitment officer at the University of Toronto and is intended for those who self-identify as Black.

Business Students Doing Great Work!
Congratulations to our grade 9 business students Emma C, Bhawana B, Nawab A, and Jenna W who built professional websites for two Ottawa area entrepreneurs as part of their summative project in 2nd quadmester. Both businesses will be making donations to the school . Well done students!

2021 Pathways to Excellence Series
The Sankofa Centre of Excellence Graduation Coach Program is committed to advancing the academic success of African, Black and Caribbean students in the OCDSB. As part of this aim, we have launched our Pathways to Excellence Series to support students to learn about post-secondary opportunities. These virtual workshops are available to secondary students.

Report Cards
Quadmester 2 report cards will be distributed in class on Tuesday (Feb. 16th) & Wednesday (Feb. 17th). Students with a spare this week can pick up their report card from the outdoor main office pick up window starting Tuesday morning.
Drama Club
What: A virtual club that meets biweekly so students can act, design (set, costumes, makeup) and workshop their craft to compete in the National Theatre Festival.
When: First meeting is Feb 16, 2020 at 3:30pm.
How: Either show up to the meeting using the Google Meet code RHSdramaclub OR add yourself to the Google classroom using code je2j4qd
Why: We all need some theatre in our life now-a-days.
Where: On Google Meet
Who: Any student who is passionate, interested, or curious about acting, makeup design, set design, or costumes. EVERYONE IS WELCOME even if you don’t know you like theatre yet!
March Break Postponed
From the Ontario Ministry of Education: "In support of our collective efforts to keep schools safe, we are postponing March break until April 12-16, 2021.” This means that there will be classes during the week of March 15 - 19, 2021.
