Youth Futures

 

Youth Futures, founded in 2008, provides equitable opportunities for youth facing marginalization and facilitates Advanced Leadership training, employment skills development, coordinates certifications needed for employment, and offers unique access to post-secondary orientation opportunities. The program, now in its 13th year, has seen nearly 1,200 youth graduate and has provided preparation for post-secondary education and ongoing employment through a 6-week paid employment placement.

Youth Futures is a program that can help you develop skills, learn about colleges and universities and even connect you with a job.  

 

If you want to hear more about it, please join us for a presentation from Ayane Bouh, Program Coordinator on Wednesday, January 12th, from 11:30-12:30 using the link below.  We will also offer application support following the presentation for anyone who requires it.

RBC Next Great Innovator Hackathon

 

We are very pleased to announce that the RBC Next Great Innovator is back for another year! This is a one-day hackathon for women, non-binary, trans or agender (womxn) individuals to grow tech skills and compete to win amazing cash prizes! Whether you are new to tech or a bit more experienced, this is a safe space for you to explore technology and develop your skills for future hackathons! 

 

What: A FREE one-day hackathon for women, non-binary, trans or agender (womxn) students to develop technical skills

Who: Womxn in grades 8 - 12 (no prior experience needed!)

When: Saturday, February 12, 10am-5pm EST

Where: 100% virtual, students need a device/Wi-Fi access and must reside in Canada

Shannen's Dream Scholarship

The Shannen’s Dream Scholarship is named in honour of Shannen Koostachin, a courageous young leader from Attawapiskat First Nation who sparked a national movement for safe and comfy schools for First Nations students.
