📚📖📚 Great news; You can borrow library books again!

Go to https://sites.google.com/ocdsb.ca/ridgemontlibrary and click either "Search our catalogue" or "browse here".

Search for the book you want. Click on the image of the book cover.

On the right hand side, click the icon of the hand over the book to "place a hold".

It will ask you to log in; use your email as your username & your last name as your password.

Click "place hold".

Ms. Wheeler will then prepare the book and deliver it to you in class the next time you are in school.

If you still have books you borrowed from our library last year at home, please bring them to school & put them in the book drop bin in the main foyer on your way to class in the morning.

Key Messages for Graduating Students in the 2020-2021 School Year

  • A reminder of the MOE changes for graduation requirements for students graduating in the 2020-2021 school year to be shared with students.

  • Community Service Hours - Graduation Requirements - The Ministry of Education has announced that for graduating students in the 2021 school year, the community involvement graduation requirements will be reduced to a minimum of 20 hours instead of 40 hours.

  • Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) - The literacy graduation requirement will be waived for all students graduating during the 2020-21 school year. The ministry is continuing to explore a field test of the online OSSLT in Spring 2021, which could allow the opportunity for non-graduating students to write the test and have successful attempts counted on their transcript.

  • Final Evaluations and Exams - As OCDSB secondary schools are presently in a quadmester or octomester hybrid models for learning, exam days have been removed from the school year calendar so we can prioritize these days as in-class instructional time.  Examinations/summative evaluations will not occur for the 2020-2021 school year and final grades will be based on 100% term work.

Ask a “Why…” question on the radio!

Alan Neal, host of ALL IN A DAY on CBC Radio, has extended an invitation to all students, both elementary and high school, who might have a question they want answered by an expert to send it in to radio show’s TELL ME WHY feature.

More details, including where to send your question, available here in this doc.
